Cowtown Fly Co. was started in 2022 after years of ordering subscription based fly boxes that were “hand selected” for a certain species or region only to be let down by the quality and effectiveness of the flies. Here at CTFC, we only put flies in the box that work for us and are proven to catch fish. We start by researching the target water and hatch charts to produce the most effective fly assortments. Next up is multiple trips so we can put that box to work and make sure it is proven to put fish in your net. Based out of Fort Worth, Texas, Cowtown Fly Co. has started with local boxes for waters in the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas while slowly expanding to other states in the US including the western mountain region, the marshes and coast in the eastern states and even Mexico. If you don’t see a box for your home water, reach out and we will make sure to create a custom box that will suit your fishing needs!

Marshall McDougal has been fly fishing for over 20 years and started tying flies at the age of 12. He is constantly traveling to new destinations to figure out how to entice fish to eat a fly. As destinations continue to get crossed off the list, new boxes will continue to be created. Pre-tied boxes are only released after we feel confident that the selection of flies offered will crush fish in that area.
